What You Can Do About Those Bags Under Your Eyes
By Denise Sears
Do you suffer from having bags under your eyes? Those bags are just the under eye area puffiness. The causes of under eye puffiness can be varied.
For someone wanting to get rid of bags under your eyes it is important to understand what causes the problem. Very often knowing the cause can help you to find an effective remedy. Of course, there are also general solutions you can try if you can not figure out the likely cause in your case.
Bags under your eyes can come from eating the wrong foods, retaining extra fluid, allergies or heredity. Obviously, some causes are pretty much unavoidable and out of your control.
If you are unsure of why you get bags under your eyes a trip to the doctor may help you find the reason. In some cases bags under your eyes can be a sign of an underlying condition, such as thyroid problems. Discovering the cause of under eye bags will not only help a person get rid of them but also help them to avoid complications if they have a more serious problem.
For some causes of under eye bags there are rather simple solutions. Someone who retains extra fluid could try sleeping at night with their head raised to prevent fluid build up in their face area.
You could also try avoiding foods that might make you retain fluid. Drinking more water also helps a person to flush excess water out of their system. For others there may not be such simple solutions.
There are a couple common tactics that seem to work pretty good. Placing cucumbers, tea bags or an eye mask over the eyes can help to reduce the puffiness. Also many beauty world insiders swear by using hemorrhoid cream to reduce puffiness.
The hemorrhoid cream is said to work because the same ingredient that shrinks hemorrhoids also reduces the puffiness under eyes. When you get bags under your eyes due to heredity you may not be able to find a solution. In this case perhaps asking a family member how they handle their under eye bags would bring up some good solutions.
Bags caused by allergies are another case where general tips may not help. Talk with your allergist and he or she may have some solutions.
Bags under your eyes are often considered a sign of age and poor sleeping habits. That may not be true. If a person finds the real cause they can, in most cases, take simple steps to reduce or get rid of under eye bags.
Having bags under your eyes is unattractive and can really effect your self-esteem. Most often they tend to show up later in life when people are already sensitive about their age. The best way to deal with bags under your eyes is to first see a doctor then try some of the tips from beauty experts mentioned above.

Brew a cup of strong Rose-hip tea. Soak two cotton pads in it, and lie down with the pads over your eyes. This reduces swelling, refreshes and tightens the skin.
